Let Sleeping Dogs Lie

Image

I am about 25% into Sleeping Dogs and I realise why there has not been much hype surrounding this game. Frankly, this game is too niche for mainstream gamers. Yes, this is a sandbox game like your Saints Rows and GTAs but comparing this game to the ones that came before it, is doing it a disservice. Read the rest of this entry

Watch Dogs: Is this the first of the next-gen console games?

Ubisoft unveiled a brand new open world, action game at what most consider to be a lackluster E3. The game is called Watch Dogs and has the player use hacking and surveillance as weapons along with the usual bang bang types. The gameplay video shows off these features as well as some incredible graphics which have led to speculation that this game is one of the first of many next-gen console games.

It’s made in…Poland?

Now I don’t mean to sound surprised by that statement but I am. I mean Poland has many great things to offer like beautiful women, great scientists, some pretty decent musical geniuses but video games? Well CD Projekt just made me feel like an idiot for being so small minded.

R18+ Legislation in Australia

News has emerged that the R18+ legislation in Australia has passed through the House of Representatives and is now on its way to the Senate. This means that adult gamers (majority of gamers) in Australia  are one step closer to being able to play games that were previously banned because MA15+ ratings didn’t cover them.

The legislation must now be passed by the Senate in the upcoming weeks before each state passes their own legislation regarding this matter. So, there’s still a long way to go but we are closer than ever to finally kicking kids off clearly adult games and stopping them from being whiny little ***** during online play (Call of Duty anyone?).

Tier 1 is Back

EA debuted the first trailer from the next Medal of Honor game called Medal of Honor Warfighter. So far the developers, Danger Close, have revealed that this new installment will have an international focus compared to the Afghanistan setting of its predecessor and will feature Tier 1 operatives from 12 different countries

From the trailer we see that the special operations forces to be featured include our very own Australian SASR, British SAS, US Navy SEALs, Delta Force (SFOD-D), CIA paramilitary force (OGA), Polish GROM, Canadian JTF2, Norwegian FSK/HJK, Russian Alpha Group & the German KSK.

Danger Close has also revealed that the game will take you to a variety of locations and settings including hunting for rebels in the Philippines as well as fighting Somali pirates all through the magic of the Frostbite engine used in Battlefield 3.

Given how great Battlefield 3 was, it’s safe to say that I am intrigued.
